2019: happy new year

Last day of December. I am at the airport waiting my flight to Sicily. Tonight is the night, it’s time to think about what we have done in this 365 days, think about our life direction and dream about our next year. In April I’ll be 30, another symbolic step in my life. Crazy! Anyway, I started this blog last August with the idea to write there my memories, my impressions and what is happening to me. So what better circumstance than this one to put a spotlight at this year?

For last year’s words belong to last year’s language
And next year’s words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning.”

T.S. Eliot – Little Gidding

Dear Jacopo,
this one has been one of the strangest and craziest year of your life. You met new people, in different circumstances, in different nations, with different culture and different interests. You met people that made you happy and sad too, people who helped you to grow up a little bit more and people that helped you to be child again. You learned new things, felt new feelings and travelled a lot.  A day in Rome to see the six-nation’s match between Italy and Scotland, a day at Milan to get your E-Residency card, five days in Berlin spending the nights in techno clubs, three days in Florence in which you saw Guns N’Roses, Iron Maiden, Halloween and Volbeat. One week in Estonia and Finland, a day at Rock the Castle festival with Megadeth, Testament, Exodus and more, a day at metalitaliafestival.com with HammerFall, Rage, Grave Digger and more.  Today you’ll be in Catania and last but not the least one week in one of the most amazing country in the world: Iceland. The greatest place you have ever been, for now. You did also many things that made you scared and made you feel completely defeated, but you had the strength to pick yourself up off the floor. This one has been a year of growth for you and you have come so far from the first day of this year. It was your own hard work that paid off, the one that will make your 2019 even better.
Unlike what most people think it is never too late to be what you wish to be.
